Acne & scarring
Active acne is treated first, and separately. Scar revision begins once the skin is calm.

What is actually happening
Acne and acne scarring are two conditions that happen to share a location. Treating them at once means resurfacing skin that is still producing new lesions, which extends healing and can create new marks.
Scar revision is measured in months, not sessions. Rolling and boxcar scars respond to different techniques, and most faces have a mixture, so a plan usually combines two or three approaches over a year.
What we assess
Whether the acne is truly quiet, scar type by touch as well as sight, and post-inflammatory pigment, which is not a scar and resolves on its own.
What we usually advise
Six months of stability before starting revision. It feels slow and it produces better results than starting early.
When we say no
Nodular or cystic acne belongs with a dermatologist first. We will refer and stay in touch.
