Accessibility

We want this site and this practice to be usable by everyone. Here is where we stand, including what still needs work.

The standard we work to

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. That is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act in most current guidance, and it is the target we test against.

What we have done

  • Text and background colors meet AA contrast ratios, including the oxblood and espresso fields.
  • Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard and shows a visible focus outline.
  • Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative crops are hidden from screen readers.
  • Motion is limited, and everything animated respects the reduce-motion setting in your operating system.
  • Headings follow a logical order, and a skip link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches.
  • Layouts reflow to 320px and support 200% text zoom without loss of content.
  • Form fields have persistent visible labels, not placeholder-only labels.

Known limitations

Being honest about the gaps is part of the commitment.

  • Some journal entries published before 2025 have images without full alternative text. We are working back through them.
  • Third-party booking and payment tools we embed are not fully under our control. If one blocks you, call us and we will complete the booking by phone.
  • Older PDF documents may not be fully tagged. We will supply an accessible version on request.

The practice itself

  • Step-free entry from Monroe Center, with an accessible restroom on the same floor.
  • Treatment rooms accommodate a wheelchair and a companion.
  • Sign language interpretation can be arranged at no cost with one week's notice.
  • Large-print and plain-language versions of consent documents are available on request.
