Privacy policy
This explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Health information you give us as a patient is governed separately by our Notice of Privacy Practices.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and to run the practice.
Information you give us
- Your name, email address and phone number when you submit a consultation enquiry.
- The concerns you select and any notes you choose to write.
- Correspondence you send us by email or through social channels.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and referring page.
- Aggregate analytics about how the site is used. We do not use analytics to identify individuals.
Please do not send detailed medical history, photographs, or test results through the website form. It is not secure messaging. We collect clinical information in person or through our patient portal.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
- To keep a record of the enquiry, so the practitioner has context if you return.
- To improve the website and understand which pages are useful.
- To meet legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use website enquiry data to build advertising audiences.
Health information
Once you become a patient, the information we hold about you is protected health information and is handled under HIPAA. That is covered in detail in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which sets out your rights of access, amendment and restriction.
Before-and-after photographs are taken for clinical records. They are never published, shared, or used in marketing without your separate, specific, written authorization, which you may withdraw at any time.
Your choices
- Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete an enquiry, where we are not required to keep it.
- Unsubscribe from any non-clinical email, using the link in the message or by replying.
- Ask us to contact you at a particular number or address only.
Michigan residents and residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have additional rights. Write to us and we will honor them.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries that do not become appointments are deleted after twenty-four months. Patient records are retained for the period required by Michigan law and our professional obligations, which is longer.
Security
The site is served over TLS. Access to enquiry data is limited to practice staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you and the relevant authorities if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
Children
This site is not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect their information through it. Patients under eighteen are seen only with a parent or guardian present and with their consent.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date below. Material changes will be flagged on the site for thirty days.
